An American Battleship & A Canadian Empty An American Battleship & A Canadian

An American battleship is lost at sea in thick fog. The first mate reports that he can see light ahead, so the captain radios the vessel demanding that it diverts its course to avoid a collision.
A Canadian voice responds, recommending that the battleship changes its own course. The captain is enraged. "This is the Captain of a US Navy ship. I say again, divert your course," he says. "No," says the Canadian calmly, "you divert your course."
The US officer is beside himself, "This is the aircraft carrier USS Lincoln," he explodes, "I demand that YOU change your course." There is a moment's pause before the Canadian replies, " This is a lighthouse. Your call."
